World Cup USA

I would first and foremost like to say that I am EXTREMELY proud of team USA. Even though they were ousted today with a 2-1 finish against Ghana, I felt they played their best and represented our country beautifully. You didn't see elaborated injuries, over aggressiveness, and foul language. Has anybody else noticed all the F-bombs being dropped by the other teams? I didn't even know that word was international! Long story short, USA played with class.

My má, my sister and myself  are a lot alike in one sense...we like to feel what they feel. Whether it's book characters, movie characters or in this case athletes. We emotionally attach ourselves to the our favorite players. In this particular case Landon Donovan. We talk about this man like he's our best friend. The past two weeks have been nothing but Landon and his whole life story. Hahaha, it has gotten so bad that immediately after the lose today, I threw up my arms in defeat and exclaimed "Now Bianca's never going to take him back!" Followed by my mom's response "Oh she better! You know they were probably on the phone all week."
Obviously I got my creepiness from my mother :) JUST KIDDING! We are simply imaginative. (No, but seriously ask me anything about team Argentina..and I'll have an answer hahahaaa)

Dear Landon Donovan, you are, in fact, the man. See you in 2014.

Fun fact: My mother has a crush on Forlán on team Uruguay (he is pretty cute). Whom she hopes tears Ghana up for ridding the Cup of our TV drama that is team USA.

It's up to you now Argentina <33

Dear Georgia,

Antoine de Saint-Exupéry dice en una parte de su obra "El principito":

..Y él volvió hacia el zorro :- Adiós, dijo….- Adiós dijo el zorro. He aquí mi secreto.

This is just an excerpt of a really touching story of a prince who learns to love from the inside out. I have yet to find a story in English that speaks to me like this one does. Sure you have Disney stories like Beauty and the Beast, where he was turned into a beast for being shallow, but seriously what was his punishment? What lesson did he learn? Wait around and a nice gorgeous girl will show up and fall in love with you. THE END.
No, it just doesn't happen like that. We should approach life as the fox says to do in the story, "What is essential is invisible to the eye.."  but instead we have boys and girls basing friendships, relationships and lifestyles around outer appearances.
We revolve our lives around the first impression. Which is the exact mentality that encourages people to be superficial and judgemental. We allow ourselves to lose sight of our priorities due to exterior. We allow ourselves to think we are never good enough for others, therefore nobody is ever good enough for us.
I suffer from this because I am human. But the prince in this passage is human, too. He was only lucky enough to have the fox teach him to love within rather than without. Imagine if we weren't taught by society that size 12 is fat. Braces are required for a pretty smile. Brown eyes are plain. Blonde hair is gorgeous. Instead we were taught "What is essential is invisible to the eye.."
We weren't put on this earth to judge. That's not our job.

Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.
Proverbs 31:30

I can't sit still.
My legs constantly move. My eyes continually search. My mind is never at ease.
Yet here I sit.

It's time to make a run for it.

Vacation

This past weekend my sister and I drove up with Shawn [real dad] and Brooke [step mom] to Brooke's  lake house in Pickwick, Tn. and had a blast! My first thought when we pulled up to the pier was "I need to learn to higher my expectations." I mean yachts, sail boats, even one boat that looked like a small cruise ship all on this pier our boat was on. So we loaded up on our boat and set sail on the biggest lake I've ever been on. We swam and wake boarded, skied and my personal fave TUBED! It was the recipe for a perfect summer weekend.

But OH MY SUNBURN!
Okay, there is nothing uglier than skin cancer, so I am usually the first one drenching myself in sunblock! Don't get me wrong I did, butttttt apparently the 30 sport spray I used on the boat Saturday was not and is NOT waterproof. :( I usually don't burn so when I do I'm a pretty big baby about it, haha. My face burned pretty badly and I honestly never knew how often I used my eyebrows until now. Yikes >:[
So the moral of my weekend is, reapply reapply reapply. Flippin reapply.
Because being red is not cute.

(My sun burnt knees yuck)

The sun speeds the aging process, causing wrinkles, sun spots, and freckles. Not to mention it is cancerous.

Sun Tips;
-Always always always wear sunscreen. You don't like sunscreen on your face? Find a make up with SPF.
-Your scalp is skin too, and they do have sunscreen for it. I think that is messy and disgusting. So wear a hat or pull your hair back in a ponytail. If you wear your hair down you could be burned and that could result in pain or flaky skin (gross)
-Wear sunglasses that block UV's. Seriously, cheap walmart sunglasses dialate your eyes and don't block the UV rays which could be very dangerous and cause cataracts in later years.

Play smart this summer and wear sunscreen pleeeeeease :)
